Mrs. Lynne Shemaitis
7th and 8th Grade Reading, Writing, and Social Studies
Lynne Shemaitis is in her 12th year teaching at the Cathedral of St. Raymond School. She has taught for 23 years in Catholic schools. Lynne graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of St. Francis with endorsements in Language Arts and Social Sciences. After college, she taught junior high ELA/SS at St. Barnabas School in the Archdiocese of Chicago for six years until taking time off to raise her two children. Years later, she would become a substitute teacher and aide at the Cathedral before teaching full time. Lynne taught 3rd grade at the Cathedral for three years before going back to teaching junior high ELA/SS (her favorite) where she has remained for the last nine years. She currently resides in Joliet with her husband and adult children who are both alumni of the Cathedral of St. Raymond School. In her spare time, Lynne enjoys spending time with her family and their beagle.
