The St. Raymond Admissions Process

Welcome to St. Raymond School! We are thrilled you are interested in learning more about our application process. The Cathedral of St. Raymond School, mindful of our mission to be witnesses to the love of Christ for all, admits students of any race, color, national and/or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to the school. St. Ray’s does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, or disability in administration of their educational policies, scholarship programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.

While St. Ray’s does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be available to them.

Our objective throughout the admissions process is to ensure a good match between our program and our students, and to guarantee that our parents are knowledgeable about, comfortable with, and confident in our philosophy and practice.

The admissions process begins in January 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year.

Admissions Steps

  1. Get to Know St. Ray’s School: Tour and Conversation –Due to COVID protocols and restrictions, our typical process for getting to know you as you get to know us has been put on hold. At this time, the best way to explore St. Ray’s is through a school tour, where you can see our facilities, meet some of our staff and ask any questions you may have about the St. Ray’s experience. Our annual Open House will be held on January 29, 2022 from 4-6 pm for prospective families with students in grades preschool through first. Please click here to register for a prescheduled tour. Families unable to attend our open house, or those with students in grades second through eighth, can participate in an after-hours tour. Schedule yours by calling 815-722-6626 or completing this inquiry form.
  2. Completed application packet – If after learning more about St. Ray’s, you feel your values and views on education align with St. Raymond, then the prospective family submits an application with the required application fee to our school office. The following documentation is part of the application packet:
      1. Your child’s original birth certificate (will be photocopied and returned)
      2. Copy of baptismal certificate (if applicable)
      3. Your child/ren’s report cards for the past two years and any standardized test scores (if applicable)
  3. Classroom visit – While typically we make every effort to get prospective students into our classrooms for a visit, due to COVID protocols and restrictions, all playdates and shadow days have been put on hold at this time.
  4. Admissions decision is made – A formal letter of acceptance is sent to families on the 15th and 30th of each month.
