Social Emotional Learning

The Cathedral of St. Raymond School Social Emotional Learning

We work in partnership with parents to give our students the best advantage in life. It is this belief that compels us to put social emotional learning as an equal partner with academic learning.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children, teens and adults acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills they need to:

  • Recognize and manage their emotions
  • Demonstrate care and concern for others
  • Establish positive relationships
  • Make responsible decisions
  • Handle challenging situations constructively

Through explicit teaching and concrete strategies, we give our students the tools to make prudent decisions and to operate in the realm of hope.
